TRIO OF THE TROUBLED EARTH
Wednesday, January 22, 2020 @ Marc Scorca Hall, National Opera Ctr., 7th floor, 330 7th Ave., NYC 10001, 7:30 p.m.
TRIO OF THE TROUBLED EARTH trends on the "hot" topic of climate change (PI). The form of TTE intends as compositional critical theory: on a purely semiotic basis, it embodies our internet culture which revels in fractured, socially-constructivist 'knowledge' that is really just a bunch of informational bits which cannot be verified, and therefore do not evolve into a cohesive disciplinary whole. TTE's modified rondo form attempts to dialogue with the past via: Monty Python-esque dark humour, mockery, parody and outright nihilism. Influenced by the philosophies and critical writings of: Martin Heidegger, Walter Benjamin, Theodore Adorno and Bernard Stiegler. TTE was first performed at a reading at The Juilliard School in 2016. This performance of TTE is dedicated to the animal and human victims of the recent Australian wildfires. View here: (2) Trio of Troubled Earth | by Tamara Cashour - YouTube
